Description
Schoongezicht Permanent Caravans & Campsite is located on the farm, Schoongezicht, at the foot of the Skurweberg mountains in the Koue Bokkeveld, Western Cape. Surrounded by scenic mountains, walking trails and swimming areas is this the perfect location for your next family getaway. Our swimming area is famous for its natural water and beach-like sand for the kids to play and build sand sculptures.
The pond is within walking distance from all our accommodation options. Our campsites are strategically placed to enjoy the tranquility of the Skurweberg mountains in the comfort of your privacy. All the sites are within walking distance from our famous swimming area (except the private site, Morning Glory, which has its own private swimming area). We have 17 campsites in total, consisting of two big communal camping areas, Hoefie’s Den and the Lapa Kamp and two private campsites, Morning Glory and Dassiegat.

Info on Lapa Camp at Schoongezicht?
The Lapa Kamp accommodates five individual campsites, with both grass and electricity. This communal campsite is within walking distance from our natural water swimming area. Each campsite has its own movable braai, and also free access to the communal braai area called, Die Lapa. This area is ideal for group bookings and events. More sites can be fit in, on request.
Is Lapa Camp pet friendly?
No, Lapa Camp is not pet friendly.
Info on Hoefie's Den at Schoongezicht?
Hoefie’s Den is a closed campsite, situated below the Lapa Kamp and permanent caravan area. 10 individual campsites are located under Oak Trees and boast both lovely shade and electricity. This camping area has its own communal braai area, ablution and is also within walking distance from the swimming area. Hoefie’s Den is known to be booked for birthday parties and reunion groups.

More info on Morning Glory Private Camp at Schoongezicht?
Enjoy camping in total privacy at the foot of the mountain! Morning Glory is situated about 2-km from our main camp area with both its own private swimming area and open-air ablution. This site can accommodate up to 16 persons. Please note– You will need a high clearance vehicle to get to Morning Glory. Remember to bring enough umbrellas or gazebos to create your shade.

Dassiegat is our second private camp at the far end of the communal swimming area. This scenic site has a lot of shade and its own private ablution with a gas shower, basin and toilet. The swimming area is within walking distance and famous for its natural water and white beach-like sand.
What does the selfcatering unit offer?
The self-catering cottage at Schoongezicht has a vintage, farmhouse feel and can accommodate up to 4 persons comfortably with two bedrooms, a bathroom and an open-air shower. The open plan kitchen and dining room are fully equipped with the needed cutlery, crockery, cooking appliances and an additional cole stove to ensure a warm stay. The unit also has a TV with selected DSTV channels. Enjoy indoor as well as outdoor braai facilities, a swimming area, a great view and a big grass area for the kids to play.
What do the permanent caravans offer?
Schoongezicht has 6 permanent, fully equipped caravans with electricity and lights, the necessary cutlery and crockery, a kettle, microwave and fridge. The shaded outside roof, picnic bench and braai facilities ensure quality time with your loved ones in comfort. The caravans are within walking distance from our swimming area, and a big family favourite.
