Butterfly Creek Bush Camp

Butterfly Creek Bush Camp is a peaceful riverside escape on the banks of the Beneke River in Friemersheim, Western Cape.

Choose from 14 spacious campsites, each with a private boma and electricity connected to an inverter — no loadshedding interruptions. WiFi, fresh municipal drinking water, solar lighting and braai wood on request add extra convenience. A kids’ play area keeps the little ones entertained.

We offer two ablution facilities:
* A newly built riverfront ablution with two private all-in-one units (shower, toilet and basin), plus a covered outdoor wash-up basin for dishes.
* A second facility just 150m away with two private showers, toilets and basins on each side, plus an outdoor wash-up basin.
Hot water is always available.

Prefer comfort without the tent?
Our two self-catering glamping caravans sleep up to 4 guests each at R850 per night:
Kingfisher – Cozy setup with a roof, cement stoep, private boma, water point, fully equipped and beautiful river views.
Sunbird – Cozy and fully equipped, also overlooking the river – perfect for a romantic escape or relaxed family stay.

Enjoy birdwatching, hiking trails, swimming in the river, nature and river walks, and relaxing picnics in beautiful surroundings. Day visitors are welcome upon request. We also have WiFi available. Please note we are not pet friendly.
