Description
Umshanti is a beautiful campsite situated at the Buffeljags dam. The campsite offers peace, tranquility, adventure and excitement – Fun for everyone! Enjoy nature’s wonderland with boat cruises, swimming, canoeing, hiking/cycling to stunning mountain pools, waterskiing, and much more.
There are six camp sites, each with a 3×3 m shade covering, electricity, a wooden table and braai facilities. There are three ablutions, each containing a shower, a toilet and a basin. Each site allows a maximum of five people. Facilities to wash dishes and a freezer is available. Free WiFi available.

Do you offer self catering units?
Our self catering units are named Windgat, Hardegat, Slapgat, Tweegat and Draaigat. These cottages each contain a bedroom with a double bed, and another two bedrooms with three single beds each. In addition, there are two single beds in the lounge. Each cottage has a kitchen and a private bathroom, as well as their own outside braai area with a bench and chairs. Sleeps 10 guests. Free WiFi.
What does The Chapel offer?
The Chapel is a cosy wooden cabin with stunning water and mountain views, ideal for a romantic weekend away. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen inside, and a bathroom. There are braai facilities next to the cottage. Sleeps 2 guests. Free WiFi.
What does The Gypsey Cottage offer?
The Gypsy Cottage is ideal for a couple, and is very private with stunning views. The cottage contains a double bed and fully equipped kitchen inside. Outside, just off the wooden deck, is a shower and camping toilet. A braai with chairs on the lawn.
What does Ougat unit offer?
This family unit consists of one room with a double bed and a single bed and a second bedroom with 2 single beds. The bathroom has a shower and the kitchen/lounge is open-plan. The best part about Ougat is the view with a braai and seating area overlooking the Buffeljags dam. Sleeps 5 guests. Free WiFi.
