Stormsvlei Camping

Stormsvlei Camping sits on the banks of the Sonderend River at Avontuur Farm, offering a peaceful countryside escape in the little town of Stormsvlei. The farm lies conveniently between Swellendam, Riviersonderend and Bonnievale.

The campsite has 22 spacious stands spread across three camping areas, with some right alongside the river and others enjoying beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The sites cater for caravans, 4×4 trailers and tents, with an electrical power point provided at every stand. Parking is available at the sites and ample ablution facilities with hot water make camping comfortable. The showers are a real treat, with large windows that let you enjoy the surrounding scenery while you wash away the day.

There’s plenty to keep outdoor lovers busy. Spend a lazy afternoon swimming or floating down the river on an inner tube.  Try your hand at fishing, or explore the farm by canoe, bicycle or on foot. Birdwatchers will also have plenty to enjoy, while a family-friendly hiking trail follows the river and winds towards the mountain. Bring your own canoe or rowing boat and make the most of the river. Relax afterwards with the golf gong challenge, jacuzzi or hot tub.
