Somabula Nature Reserve
Description
Nestled peacefully in a valley surrounded by pristine bush, Somabula Nature Reserve offers the perfect environment in which to unwind. Ideally situated for weekend getaways, only one hour from Johannesburg and 40 minutes from Pretoria, the reserve boasts a wide variety of antelope as well as giraffe, zebra and wildebeest and an abundance of birdlife. Widely spaced, unfenced camp sites with free roaming non dangerous wild life and excellent birdlife. The camp ground is grassed and each site has its own braai facilities, water on tap and access to ablution areas. Three sites, Kingfisher, Hornbill & Bulbul share ablutions, with flush toilets, showers with hot & cold water and wash-up area. Four sites, Egret, Hadeda, Lourie & Barbet have private lock-up ablution blocks with toilet, shower and wash up facilities. All camp sites are without power. All ablutions have solar/or gas water heating & solar lighting.

What does the Pioneer Cottage offer?
A quaint thatched 2 sleeper cottage built in the mid 1800s with manure floors and shutters. One bedroom with double bed, lounge/dining area, inside kitchen and bath /toilet. All linen and towels provided.
Solar lighting, gas stove, water heater and small fridge, crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils provided. The cottage is equipped with a braai area overlooking the valley.
What do the Shibala and Matombo chalets offer?
Thatched double story chalets with two bedrooms. Main bedroom with double bed upstairs. Second bedroom with two single beds and shower/toilet downstairs. All linen and towels provided.
Lounge area with indoor fireplace. Covered outside kitchen area.
Solar lighting, gas stove, water heater and small fridge, crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils provided. The chalets are equipped with a braai area overlooking the valley.
What do the Ingwe and Pumba chalets offer?
Cosy two sleeper units with double bed, shower and toilet. All linen and towels provided

What do the Outspan Ox-Wagons offer?
4 beautifully restored ox-wagons. Each containing double bed with all linen and towels provided.

What does the Ballantine Ox-Wagon offer?
Single ox-wagon containing double bed with all linen and towels provided. Closed lounge, kitchen and ablutions provided adjoining ox-wagon.
