Experience a peaceful retreat at Rotsdrif Camping and Fishing, nestled along the serene Vaal River in Vaaloewer, Gauteng. Conveniently located just ±23 km from the Vaal Mall in Vanderbijlpark, about 1 hour from Johannesburg, and approximately 1 hour 30 minutes from Pretoria, it’s the perfect getaway close to the city yet far from the rush.
We offer a variety of accommodation options, including 8 riverfront stands, 10 camping stands, 1 furnished tent, 3 permanent caravans, and 3 fully equipped chalets. Our facilities include 2 ablution blocks, a refreshing swimming pool, and expansive grassy areas where kids can run and play. Children are welcome to bring their bicycles—there’s plenty of safe space for them to ride and enjoy.
Just up the road, you’ll find a small convenience shop for essentials, as well as a liquor store. For boating enthusiasts, a jetty is available where you can launch your boat at an additional cost.

What does chalet 2 offer?
Chalet 2 is fully equipped for 2 adults and 2 kids. there are a double bed and a sleeper couch. A server with built-in gas plates is available for cooking on the veranda as well as fridge, dishwasher & microwave in the kitchen. It is fully fenced off, so if you have little ones, they can play outside. A minimum of 2 nights is required to book this chalet.
What does your furnished tent offer?
The tent is fully furnished with a double bed and 2 x single beds (at the back of the tent) and side tables. You only bring your own clothes. The kitchen area (in front) is equipped with a fridge, microwave oven upright drawer for storage, a 2 plate gas top for cooking, standing on a server, pots, dishes & crockery. The whole tent area is fully paved with an awesome view over the Vaal river from the top. An ablution block is just a few steps away from the tent, with hot showers, basins & toilets. A maximum of 4 guests & 1 car is allowed and a minimum of 2 nights are required to book this tent.
What do your permanent caravans offer?
There are 3 permanent caravans, so you don’t have to worry about driving with your caravan or setting it up, it is already there! It is fully equipped with a double bed and 2 x single beds. The stands are next to the top ablution block. Each caravan are equipped with a fridge, microwave & stove. There are also electrical points and a nice sitting area outside the front tent. A maximum of 4 guests & 1 car will be allowed and a minimum or 2 nights are required.
