Rooiberg Lodge lies in the Klein Karoo, nestled in the Rooiberg Mountains’ foothills. It covers about 14,000 hectares of fynbos and succulent Karoo. The lodge is in the Assegaay Bosch Nature Reserve, between Ladismith and Calitzdorp, 12km from Vanwyksdorp. We offer various accommodations and an onsite à la carte restaurant. The campsite is ideal for a few days’ stay. Pitch your tent on green lawns, enjoy a fire under the stars, and use the well-equipped kitchen and ablution facilities. A variety of accommodation options caters to everyone, including chalets, loft rooms, and the highlight—a luxurious manor house.

What is your pet policy at Rooiberg Lodge?
Pets are allowed on request. All pets must be on a leash around the camp or public areas. No pets inside the restaurant, but they are welcome on the deck.
Directions to Rooiberg Lodge?
Rooiberg Lodge can be reached from the N2 via Herbertsdale and Van Wyksdorp (turn-off close to PetroSA) or from Calitzdorp or Barrydale along Route 62. Exit at R324 from the N2 and exit again on R327 direction Van Wyksdorp. (Please note the route includes a 44km gravel road)
What does the Manor House offer guests?
Ideal for a family reunion or a get-together for old friends, this beautiful home includes several luxury double bedrooms, all en-suite. A large kitchen and inviting entertainment areas, with a private pool, provide the ideal space for relaxation and socialising. The rooms, all with separate entrances, may be booked separately, and is within close proximity to the lodge itself.
What do the chalets offer?
Sleeping either 2 or 4 these are well equipped with both a cosy fireplace and modern air conditioning. Situated near the watering hole frequented by buck, birds and the occasional zebra, the views of the surrounding mountains are spectacular.

Affordable but comfortable rooms for both groups and individuals, these spacious single, double and dormitory-style rooms with shared ablutions and communal areas that are modern and well serviced, are perfect for overnight stays for road trippers or weekender groups.
