Description
Klein Tafelberg is located just over two hours from Cape Town and offer accommodation and activities to the outdoor enthusiast. We offer chalets, glamping, camping and off-grid camping. Klein Tafelberg 4×4's campsite is divided into KRALE and each kraal has their own ablution, water point and electricity. Each kraal has an area where campers set up their campsite according to their choice. Bring a blue caravan plug when you come camp.
Come and enjoy beautiful views and lots of open space to help you fully recharge from life in the city. If you are up for it, you can try some of our activities too.

Your Questions & Answer
Can I access the venue in a normal car?
Most of the roads to get to us are accessible with a normal car. You can get to the start of the hike, our climbing wall and training building with a regular vehicle. You do, however, need a 4-wheel drive to access our office in the camp, the bush shop and accommodation.
Do you have electricity?
We do have electricity and all the campsites (excl the off grid) has electricity points. We unfortunately do not have electricity during loadshedding. We don’t complain too much – this means less distractions to enjoy our beautiful night skies.
Do you have telephone reception and Wifi?
Klein Tafelberg is in an area where reception can come and go. It is best not to need to stay in contact with the outside world too much during your stay. We do have areas with reasonable wifi reception if you need to use your phone to get a message out. Also, the top of the mountain has amazing reception – a good motivation to do our hike!
Do you sell wood and ice?
We sell ice, wood and water.
Do you have card faccilities?
We have card facilities for payments, but happy to accept cash too. Accommodation and larger amounts are payable in advance via card or EFT.
Do you allow dogs and other pets?
We have wildlife (birds and other smaller animals) and cats on the property. We also have a troop of baboons in the area. We do allow dogs as long as owners take full responsibility for their animals. Hiking on the mountain with your dog is allowed, but strictly managed. Access might be denied at any time or in places the eagles or other birds are roosting. Please discuss with management first.
Do you offer pensioner's discount?
Pensioners stay for less during the week. If you are a pensioner and staying during a weekend, you can book at the regular rate.
Are you only open to larger groups? Can I bring my family?
Klein Tafelberg Adventure and Training Centre is ideal for larger groups, but we welcome anyone who wants to enjoy our facilities and beautiful area.
What do the chalets offer?
Equipped chalets that sleep 4. Fridge/freezer, bathroom with shower, all linen provided (excl towels) and private braai. Beautiful views of our mountain.
What do the glamping tents offer?
Came and enjoy a stay in our glamping tents. It sleeps 2 and comes equipped with all the basics you need, including a fridge and stove.
Do you have off-grid camping sites?
No electricity and no facilities. Campers need to be fully self-sufficient, incl water. These camping sites cater for 4 people, x1 vehicle
These sites offer beautiful views, but no ablution facilities or water. Fully off-grid.
